Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Water Damage in Georgia?

Sudden and accidental is usually covered. Gradual and preventable usually is not.

Usually covered

A burst supply line, a failed water heater, an appliance hose letting go, storm water entering through sudden damage to the structure. The theme is a discrete event you didn’t cause and couldn’t predict.

Usually not

A leak that ran for months. Deferred maintenance. Seepage and groundwater — that’s flood coverage, which is a separate policy. Sewer backup, unless you carry the endorsement.

What actually decides it

Documentation. Two identical losses go differently based on whether there are before-photos, moisture logs, and an itemized scope. Adjusters are not looking for reasons to deny — they’re looking for evidence to approve, and someone has to give it to them.

We are not your adjuster

We don’t decide coverage and we won’t promise it. We build the file so the person who does decide has everything they need.

Tell us what happened

Where the property is, what happened, and when. If there's standing water right now, call instead — the form is for everything that can wait an hour.

  • One local Atlanta crew — not a stranger routed from three counties away
  • Photos, moisture readings, and an itemized scope for your claim
  • Same company from extraction through rebuild
